Remembering our baby Libi Barak, that passed away on February 12th this year, 5 days before his 6th B-day.
It was just 7 months after he diagnosed with the DIPG in Tei-Aviv, Israel. Two weeks after the diagnosis all the family left the country and moved to New-York City, trying to save Libi’s life with a medical trial treatment in NYU Langone hospital.
Libi was so brave and so happy throughout all that period, including the 6 weeks radiation, so we kept on doing lots of fun and to have the great new experiences at all those 7 months. Libi and so did us, his parents, didn’t imagine it would end so fast and so quickly.
But that was his destiny, 7 months after diagnosis Libi passed in our apartment in New York, inside our bed next to his mother and father. Without any suffering or pain.
We never heard the word DIPG before July 2018, we almost didn’t know what cancer is and definitely didn’t imagine it can strike us so hard, so fast, so brutal. We tried everything to save Libi, our baby boy, our happy healthy kid, that only the MRI scan showed he had this terrible thing inside his brain.
It’s so much important to Support and to Increase awareness of DIPG, to let the world know about it and to find a cure for hundreds of kids around the globe who get the DIPG every year and doesn’t survive for more than 12 months. Kids should not die so fast, so quickly without any chance of getting a life-saving medicine, it’s not possible that in 2019 there will be no cure for our kids.
We love you Libi, you were and still the heart us.
